Education Session 1: Transformative Changes at Food and Beverage Retail and What They Mean for Produce
This decade has already dealt several headwinds to the grocery industry and came at a time shoppers were already changing rapidly in their patterns and expectations. Join Circana’s fresh foods expert and long-time produce thought leader, Jonna Parker, as we dive deeper into where produce is experiencing unique strength at retail despite these disruptive challenges, and most importantly, how we as retailers can continue to expand the success of fresh fruits and vegetables for years to come.

Education Session 2: Food as Medicine and Produce Prescriptions: What's It Mean for the Produce Department?
Last fall’s White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health created a pathway for expansion of Food as Medicine programs, which allow health insurers to cover the cost of food-based interventions including produce prescriptions. While pilots currently exist around the country, additional programs are expected to rapidly increase due to states’ ability to update their Medicaid reimbursement policies. If scaled properly, produce prescriptions could be revolutionary in putting millions – if not billions – of dollars dedicated towards fruits and vegetables to be redeemed at retail. But how does it all work in reality and what will it take to properly scale? IFPA's Mollie Van Lieu will moderate a panel of leaders in technology, retail and healthcare around what is currently happening at retail today in this space and where we need to go.
